La Vela, hotel in Furore

Placed in the centre of Furore, The painted Town, the residence is ideally placed along the Amalfi Coast, far away from the stresses of the city.

I booked according to reviews, but although the accommodation was pleasant and clean, breakfast was the same everyday, croissants and sweet packaged products not nutritional.

Host was really friendly and offered to help with transport and finding our way in the area. She even left some fresh tomatoes and other local goodies for us. In addition to this, the apartment was extremely well equipped, much more than we would have even hoped for. The terrace/garden is absolutely phenomenal. We loved it.

Quiet little town just 20 minutes by car from Amalfi.

Quiet little town just 20 minutes by car from Amalfi. Close enough to Fiordo Di Furore that you can walk from there, although it can be a thought walk depending on where you start from, especially on the way back up.

We liked the location, as we had our own transport and could drive to other areas with beaches and shopping, it was so nice to come back to Furore which is perfect authentic Amalfi Coast Italy as the location is absolutely beautiful, inspiring and relaxing. Could have stayed a little longer.

This is in a great location.

This is in a great location. It was more busy than I expected and driving around is tricky with the windy narrow roads. You will need to be brave to go out driving Olin the dark to get to restaurants at night. The walk down the Fjord 600 steps is a great exercise for anyone

The hidden beach of Fiordo was just fantastic.

The hidden beach of Fiordo was just fantastic. We reached it by climbing down about 800 steps on the first day which was quite an amusing adventure. Second day we went by bus to save our leg muscles ! The beach was so enjoyable with panoramic scenes of the bridge on top and the mountain in the back. The water was so fresh and the beach boy provided comfortable chaise-long and drinks. At night we had a delicious dinner at Fico D'India restaurant on top of the mountain, quire stylish with a great view of the sea during the day time.

    Furore has beautiful views.

Furore has beautiful views. The location is about 400 meters above sea. There is not alot of activities so u must take the bus train or ferry. If you like more night life and activities then I would stay in one of the bigger towns like Almafi, Positano or Sorrento but if you like the peace and quiet and don't mind a little extra travel. This is good because keep in mind the bigger towns will be more expensive.

Very welcoming host. Comfortable, cozy and convenient apartment. Well equipped kitchen. The main feature is the terrace overlooking the mountain and the sea (may be not right in front of). A long staircase leads down to the beach on the famous Furore fjord (be ready to climb countless steps, the way from the beach to the house takes an hour). Other part of this stairs leads up to Sentiero Degli Dei path. For those who don't have such strong legs - Good pizzeria, bar and bus stop to Amalfi are very close to apartment.

Paola met us at the gate and gave of us a tour of the property and such a warm welcome! We felt at home all week. She even helped us plan a few activites and had lists of places to eat and the hours of different businesses in town (pharmacy, grocery, etc.) Furore is PERFECTLY located less than 20 min from Amalfi. We loved staying in quiet peaceful Furore and using the Amalfi port to ferry to and from other cities for day trips. It was so easy! I would absolutely return here if we go back to the Amalfi Coast!

The owner, his wife, and his 2 sons were AMAZING! His son even quickly drove us up to catch the public bus one day because there was some confusion and we were barely going to make it in time. Their restaurant for dinner is absolutely incredible! If you stay there you MUST eat there every chance you can!! Gorgeous view from our balcony! I can't say enough great things about our experience! We spent the entire month of September traveling all over Italy and our stay here was one of our favorites!

We had the most wonderful stay at Lena Magda. Angelo and his wife were the most wonderful and generous hosts we have ever met. They truly treat you like family and go above and beyond to ensure you have the most wonderful stay possible. The rooms were incredibly clean and comfortable with wonderful views. The breakfast was wonderful. This was one of our best stays in Italy and Angelo was the best host we have ever met. I would 100% recommend this place to visit the coast.

The hotel was nice. The views were remarkable. The breakfast was great. The staff was extremely helpful. The location requires a bus ride to get anywhere. I wouldn't rent a car on the amalfi coast. Maybe a scooter... Maybe.. and im a seasoned scooter and motorcycle rider. the amalfi coast is not an easy road to navigate. parking is provided for free at the hotel. The buses are frequent and reliable.

The owner, Pino, and his family are wonderful hosts. The hospitality is truly like no other. Accommodating, friendly, just absolutely lovely people. The hotel itself has the most stunning views. Nice continental breakfast. Gorgeous restaurant. Right beside the Sita Sud bus service bus stop. There is also two morning shuttles to Amalfi and the beach (Fiordo) which are very handy, efficient, and cheap.

The pictures do not do justice to the view. It is absolutely stunning, from every room. We considered a hotel, but you can't beat the privacy of having your own home and yard, without street noise. Beniamino offered to drive us to restaurants nearby, and even all the way to Amalfi. The view, the privacy, the hosts... all wonderful. We hope to return someday.

The place is simply great. The sea view was terrific. Our room was very clean. The property is fairly close to Amalfi, though you need to take a 30-minute drive to get there. On the other hand, it is quite close to lots of good restaurants in Furore and Agerola. By the way, Agerola is lovely. Angelo is very nice and helpful. Finally, the breakfast is superb.

The flat was as described and very convenient for the bus stop and small shop. Advice to future holiday-makers: - Fiorda di Furore is definitely worth a visit but the descent/ascent is physically demanding. Be prepared for lots of stairs! - bus tickets are purchased at the bar near the shop, which opens at 9am. If you need an early bus plan ahead.

We loved this hotel! Great view and loved the terrace with the spa. The spa never heated up but still lovely to sit up there. We also had a private balcony. The breakfast pastries were way too good- we ate them all. They have a restaurant on the property and it was fantastic for dinner. Now one of my favorites in Southern Italy!
